📳Chelsea go head-to-head against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Read our Predictions and Betting Tips with Match Preview, Head-to-head stats (h2h) and Team Form Analysis.
Prediction for this Premier League match
High-flying Chelsea will look to extend their winning run in the Premier League to four games when they face Nottingham Forest in yet another home fixture. The Blues outplayed Brighton 4-2 at the weekend, with Cole Palmer scoring each of the four goals and, no doubt, the former Man City ace is going to prove a handful for the opposition back-line. Reece James remains in the recovery room, but the pacey right-back should be the only absentee in the home team.
The Reds, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Fulham and given Chelsea’s brilliant form in all competitions, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. Midfielders Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo remain in the recovery room, but there are no fresh injury worries in the away team ahead of the trip to London. In their last meeting in the Premier League Chelsea defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2.
How the bookies view it: Chelsea to chalk up another victory
Chelsea are red-hot 4/9 favourites on WK777 to make it six wins on the bounce across all competitions.
Nottingham Forest are big outsiders at 5/1 (WK777) while a share of the Stamford Bridge spoils is an unfancied 18/5 with the same firm.
Head to head: Tricky Trees not easy to topple
Chelsea have failed to beat Nottingham Forest in three of the four meetings between the pair over the last two Premier League seasons, though they did triumph in the most recent tussle at the tail end of last term.
The Tricky Trees triumphed at Stamford Bridge last season with a hard-fought 1-0 win, with Anthony Elanga’s goal proving decisive.
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest Prediction
Chelsea moved up to fourth place in the Premier League standings after an empathic 4-12 win over Brighton last weekend.
The main catalyst for the stunning victory was Cole Palmer who became the first man to score four goals in the first half of an affair in the Premier League.
He did so with some sensational strikes eight days ago at Stamford Bridge. The Blues continued their hot run of form by putting four goals past Belgian side Gent in the mid-week’s UEFA Conference League tie.
Enzo Maresca completely changed his starting lineup for that tie, giving room for the likes of Pedro Neto, Christopher Nkunku, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to shine on Thursday evening.
Chelsea are big favourites here against Nottingham Forest who failed to impress in a 0-1 defeat to Fulham on the home patch last Saturday.
The Reds are 10th in the league table but they’ve managed just a single win in the previous five outings across competitions.
Nottingham Forest fell at home to Fulham last weekend, offering a quiet attacking display on the occasion.
Nuno Espirito Santo will likely try and park the bus against Chelsea on Sunday but we are not quite optimistic about his team’s chances of getting a result that way against the flying-high Chelsea squad.
The hosts are scoring at will these days regardless of the competition. They put five goals past Barrow in the League Cup, seven goals past West Ham and Brighton in the last two Premier League fixtures, and four goals past Gent at the start of the Conference League run.
We will back in-form Chelsea to win by two or more goals difference as the main betting option at the odds of 2.20.
Alternatively, Cole Palmer is 2.00 to score anytime for the Blues following his four-goal show against the Seagulls.
Highlighted Player (Ibrahim Sangaré):
Ibrahim Sangare is an Ivorian professional football player who plays for Toulouse in the first tier of French Football. Standing at 1.91m, the defensive midfielder is known for his “big presence” and ” tackling.”Sangare started his youth career with Ivorian clubs Tout Koumassi and AS Duenguele and spent a cumulative of five years with the clubs.
In 2016, he left Ivory Coast to join the French club Toulouse FC on an initial one year contract, which later extended to five years. After spending his first few months in the reserve team, Sangare broke into the first team set up as the season progressed. He made his professional debut on the 22nd of October, 2016, in Toulouse’s 0-0 league draw with SCO Angers.
As of today, Sangare made 66 appearances for the club in all competitions. Born on the 2nd of December 1997, the 21-year-old has represented Ivory Coast at the under-23 level and the senior level, debuting for both in the year 2015.
Highlighted Team (Chelsea):
Over the years Chelsea have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in the English Premier League. Roberto Di Matteo helped the team win their first ever Champions League trophy (2011/2012), but it has to be noted that they were more than fortunate to beat Bayern Munich in the title game.
Chelsea have been playing at Stamford Bridge since 1876 and they are a real force to be reckoned with at home. The Blues have won seven FA Cups, five League Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups and the UEFA Europa League. Rafael Benitez was in charge of the team that faced Benfica in the 2012/2013 Europa League final, with Branislav Ivanovic scoring the winner for the Blues in the title clash.
After lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, the Blues largely struggled in the next campaign, which saw Jose Mourinho’s second spell with the club come to an end, and Antoine Conte went over to take the reigns for the 2016/2017 season.
Players to watch: Palmer to fire against Forest?
Quite astonishingly, Cole Palmer scored all four of Chelsea’s goals in the aforementioned 4-2 win over Brighton last Saturday. The Blues talisman is even-money (1/1) on PHMACAO to bag again this weekend and that looks too big to ignore.
Callum Hudson-Odoi will be looking to make his mark when he returns to Stamford Bridge this weekend. The former Chelsea man is 5/4 (WJPESO) to register at least one shot on target on Sunday.
Predicted line-ups
Blues boss Maresca shuffled his pack in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night but he is expected to revert back to last weekend’s starting XI against Nottingham Forest.
Morgan Gibbs-White will almost certainly be restored to the Nottingham Forest team on Sunday after serving a suspension. However, Forest manager Nuno is expected to once again be without injured trio Danilo, Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly.
Chelsea: Sanchez; Fofana, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson
Nottingham Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Ward-Prowse; Gibbs-White, Anderson, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
